ROSIE-DEE'S CHALLENGE 49 & a little bit!!!

While still continuing with the theme of HOLIDAYS, the theme last week over on ROSIE-DEE'S CHALLENGE was the SEA. I though about fishing boats to start with, probably because I come from a fishing town (Looe) but I just couldn't get it right so ended up with dolphins. Not necessarily a 'holiday' theme but I have had the honour of swimming with wild dolphins in the sea while on my holiday in Australia. It was an incredible, incredible experience.

The image is by Jayne Netley Mayhew. I stamped the background with my favourite swirly stamp and the mount is cut with a fiskars border punch.

This 'little bit' is the lat in the HOLIDAY series. Next month there is a new basic theme but broken down every week as well. Do pop along tomorrow around 6.30 pm for the new challenge.

Thank you so much for taking time out today to visit. Its the last week of the school holidays & I hope that you have enjoyed them HUGS XXX

SCD - WK 16 - BIRDHOUSE

On a roll today and got this one done.....very cathartic I have to say. The theme this week over on SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT is to make a BIRDHOUSE.......brilliant idea!!!

I haven't done anything too tricky today but I have had a lot of fun with this one. I even gave them a net curtain to hide their blushes haha

Thank you so much for coming to take a look. I hope you have a fabulous relaxing weekend. HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON - BOOKMARK

Over on the TAG IT ON CHALLENGE this week Frankie went for something a little different! We were asked to make a bookmark. Now I read a lot but do have a very annoying habit of just turning down the corners of a page to mark my place.....sooo naughty really haha. But I promise that I will use this one in future!

I used Broken China DI on the background and then spritzed with copper glimmer mists. The dragon stamp is superb & comes from Personal Impressions. I got the coin from a local Chinese shop...just hope its the right way up!!!! The phone charm came from there also.

Thank you for looking today. LOVE & HUGS XXX

SCD - Houses - Words

First of all I would like to thank all those who left a comment yesterday about Charlie, I was really moved, thank you XXXXX My other cats are a bit bewildered but ok, although Sam, as the new topcat, is not too sure about bossing the females around hahaha Of course it does mean that he may grow up at last hahaha
Anyways...back to SCD. The continuing theme of houses still stands and this week we were asked to use words. Please forgive me for being a bit cat orientated this week but I actually thought of a certain person in our lives when I saw this quote!!!!! Would love to give it to her haha

I am sorry this is a bit late for me but I think you understand. Thank you for looking my lovely blogging friends. HUGS XXX

CHARLIE

I am so so sad today. Those who follow my blog will have read about Charlie, my tenacious old cat. Today he decided that he had had enough of this world and left us. At 21 he had been part of my life for soooo long that he will leave a massive gap in our day to day existence.
He was an extraordinary cat who won over anyone who met him. He would con them into letting him use their lap even tho they were warned of clingy white hair!!! He took everything that life threw at him too. A vet once desribed him as a sulker and oh boy was he right!!! He was in a car accident as a young cat & had pins in his hips and leg. He had a stroke and the vets gave him 6months. But he wasn't bothered and learnt to walk again....no problem, though it was more of a mince haha. That was 3 & a half years ago now. He had another stroke last month which left him blind but even that didn't phase him. He shrugged it off and soon found his way round...especially to his food!!!!
But the last couple of days he just wore out and how wonderful for us all that it was old age that took him in the end. We are so grateful that he wasn't suffering in any way....it could have been far worse.
Anyway....thank you for getting this far. I will leave you with some photographs of Charlies rather peculiar sleeping habits......

on my sewing basket...right on the pincusion!!!

although he is awake in this pic...he liked to sleep here too

I suppose he was comfortable haha

on an eggtray and yes there were eggs in it!!!

Thank you for looking XXX

Here is a sneaky peak at tomorrows effort, Wk 49. Do pop over to see what the challenge is. Its usually up around 6.30pm.

TIO # 17 - a circle embraces, a line divides

I was so excited for Frankie when I read todays post from Tag It On!!!! Do pop over & read her good news XXX

The theme for this week is to make a circular tag. Frankie has said ' a circle embraces, a line divides'...how true is that sentiment? I am not too sure what she wanted us to do on our round tags but I just had to go with a love theme, just for her, hope she doesn't mind too much!!!

My tag is around 3" diameter. I fussed with my distress inks & then overstamped it with some circles from a Fiskars wedding stamp set. The little love stamp is from the same set. The lettering is also Fiskars. The image is from a Crafty Individuals book which has come in handy!!! Oh and I added some stickles ice to the dots.

Thank you for coming over to see my tag, please leave me a comment as I love reading them & hopping to your blogs, LOVING HUGS XXX

BS CHALLENGES 2

Its week 2 of the BUBBLY SCRUMPTIOUS CHALLENGES but first I would just like to thank those who took part in last weeks.....we had some gorgeous entries. This weeks idea is to

USE DRY EMBOSSING!!!

One of the great things about this challenge blog is that you can make anything!!!!!

I have to say that although I have several cuttlebug folders I don't do a lot of embossing :( especially since my Bigshot came back from its little jolly in Bristol...but thats another story haha

For this challenge I covered an A5 notebook. I had got some gorgeous girly gothic style paper by Creative Imaginations that I was itching to use. I used the cuttlebug halloween plate & added pink & silver paint to it. Oh & I had to add a silver crown!!!! There is black lace down the side & another strip down the back cover.

Do pop along to have a look at what our DT have done...they are all so different & inspiring. HUGS XXX

SCD - wk14 - houses - FLOWERS

Isn't it amazing just what you can get done when there is no computer??? The electrician has been round today to change all the meters so I had nothing to distract me and ooo I had fun with this!!!

SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT is such a fun challenge blog!!! The basic shape changes every month and the theme every week!!! This month we are making little houses and the theme this week is FLOWERS!!! There is some amazing stuff from the DT this week too!!!

As a greenhouse had already been mastered I thought I would make a potting shed!!! hahahaha as if I could make a greenhouse like the one the SCD blog!!!!!

I think its all self explanatory really but I would like to point out that the little wheelbarrow & spade are metal.

Thank you for popping over as I had sooo much fun making this. HUGS XXX

Rosie-Dee's Wk 47 reveal & teensy peak of 48!!!

Helloooo from a wet, miserable Cornwall :( Hope it bucks up for tomorrow as I have been promised a day out :)))

Its saturday so it the day that I do a bit of revealing (of the crafty kind hahahahaha!) of what I have been doing over on
Rosie-Dee's Challenge Blog. But first I will show in full the layout I did for week 47 - beach.
This photo of my daughter & her friend, Alicia, was taken by the local press way back in 1988 for a sandcastle competition on Looe beach in Cornwall. At this point they hadn't done too much but with a little help from Alicia's dad they came 2nd (yeah I know it was cheating but all the parents helped haha)

Here is my sneaky peak of tomorrows DT entry. The theme is SUN. Do pop over tomorrow around 6ish to take a look at what the DT have done and to have a go!!!

Thank you for taking a looksee. I will be back tomorrow with the new WEEKLY CHALLENGE for BUBBLYSCRUMPTIOUS so watch this space!!! Hope the sun is shining on you this weekend, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON #16 - Strictly for the birds!

Hello from a very smug me hahahaha. I have found out how to turn the flash off on my camera...I have only had the camera 18months hahahahaha!!!!!

The challenge over on Frankie's wonderful TAG IT ON this week is...

STRICTLY FOR THE BIRDS!

I love birds & I love this stamp from Dimension Fourth even more....I have used it so much. This time I have watercoloured it with my Aquatones but looking at it now I think I should have glittered it to make it more showy :(. The other stamp I have used is a Sir Tim background stamp, delicately stamped with a green chalk ink so that the bird stands out more. By the way...the ribbon & lace are the same green as on the bird!

I have been so busy making wedding invitations that its been lovely to have a break to do this, thanks Frankie XXX

Thank you for popping over, its always a pleasure to read your comments. HUGS XXX

The photo is of my daughter sitting in front of Canning Dam, which serves Perth, Australia. It was the beginning of their summer and you can see that the dam is pretty low. Ahhhh that was a great holiday!!!!!

Here is my sneeky for week 47 which will be put up tomorrow.

SCD - WK 13

Hi there!!! There certainly is something completely different happening over on the Something Completely Different Challenge blog today!!!! The theme has changed from postcards to houses!!! I love houses...just wish I lived in one hahahahahaha. Nah...I am very happy with my flat really, honestly Jeremy XXX

Although the main shape has changed we still have a different theme each week & this week its Love & Romance......aaahhhh! Now this is the point when I shout.....'Why can't I get a decent photo????' I have tried everything today...grrrrr!

Anyways, although its hard to see, I did use Fired Brick Distress Inks for the background, which is pretty dark isn't it? A tucked a little pic of a soppy couple in behind some lovely white lace & stuck a jewelled pin through. I finished it off with a flower, some beads on a wire & a little brass charm which reads 'made with love'.

So irl this little house shape is a lot darker....I think you will need a lot of imagination...sorry. HUGS XXX

TIO#15 - Nature's Beauty

Hello again...two lots of blogging in a day and no crafting today!!! Can't be bad eh? hahahaha

This weeks Tag It On Challenge has been set by Beth, The Queen of Cups. Beth has stood in for Frankie as she has other things to think about this week. So if you pop over to Frankie's blog, please leave her a hug! Beths choice for this week is.....

NATURE'S BEAUTY

There are loads of ideas that spring to mind for this theme but I have kept it general so that I can use one of my favourite sayings - 'We can all learn from nature'. Sometimes we just don't spend the time to watch how things work in nature do we.

For my tag I used a hint of Peeled Paint DI and then spritzed with my fave Copper Glimmer Mist. I overstamped with 2 stamps - an ivy and a diamond. I watercoloured the ivy. The little chippie bird is one left unused from a previous project but its so cute!!!!

Thank you so much for coming to take a look. HUGS XXX

Tamara's Birthday Card

I don't often show cards that I have made for family but I couldn't resist this one as I such a lot of fun making it!!! Tamara has a 'thing' about VW's and when I saw this stamp ages ago I had to have it!!! I have stamped onto different papers & pieced it together while puting teensy pics of her & her intended inside!

The VW stamp is by Little Claire and the flowers stamp is an old favourite by Autumn Leaves.

Thanks for popping by for a look, HUGS XXX

Rosie-Dee's Challenge 45 reveal & sneaky 46!!!

Hellooooo!!! Here is my full pic of the DT card I did for Rosie-Dee's this week. The theme was 'Sympathy'. I never make sympathy cards as I find them too hard so have to confess to buying them!!! But I rose to the challenge and have to say that it was very hard!!!

The card is around A5 in size. I printed off a sheet of Abide with Me music and then cut an oval in the middle. I scruffed & inked it before sticking to the front of the card. The lovely chunky rose sits over the oval. The sentiment is PC generated. A black bow finishes it off.

...and just to be naughty again, here is a sneaky of tomorrows challenge!!!

Please pop over to Rosie-Dee's Cahllenge tomorrow around 6ish to see what their new challenge is.....the theme changes too!!! HUGS XXX
