Candle week at The Craft Barn

I love candles and have a fair few dotted around my home.  But I do find it hard to find holders that I like!  The Craft Barn have several blanks that you can decorate to your own taste and I have used a large one here.

This one is made of wood so you must never leave it unattended, which I never do anyway.  I reluctantly covered the wood with a coat of sand coloured paint.  It seemed a shame as the wood is lovely, but I need a better base for the stamping & colouring.  I stamped & embossed the flowers in copper then coloured in carefully with Promarkers. Some distress ink was lighted added to the edges and some copper tape attached top & bottom.  While I was at it  also made up a card to match...

Then my calendar page for the week...

For this one I cut out the leaves and added a hand drawn candle & a quote.

The goodies that I used from The Craft Barn ...
Impression Obsession stamp J2011
Cosmic Shimmer embossing powder - ancient copper

Thank you for taking a peek today, see you soon!  HUGS xxx

Oh Karen, you've done such a lovely job with this and the calendar page is especially lovely.
I had a bit of a phase of making the actual candles a few years back - sold a good few at "Sales of work" and kept a few - none of those here now though I got sick of dusting them!
