SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT - yellow & green

Hi everyone!!!!  I have had the dreaded flu and have really not felt like doing much crafting but I did get messy for this weeks SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT's challenge this week.  It is to use yellow & green....not a favourite combo of mine but I like a challenge hahaha!!!  I have made an ATC...

I had been using some Tando chippie numbers on an Advent Calendar ( you can see that later :D x) and saved the waste to use as a stencil....so that the background!  The image is one of Sir Tims and of course the quote comes from 'The Prisoner'...just love that one!!!

SCD - orange & black

As you can see I have been playing with my template!  Just have to make a new banner so I hope you don't mind looking at the old, too small one for now :D

I have been making some twinchies for a swap and when I saw that SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT's theme this week was Orange & Black I thought I would enter.  Been ages since I have entered...sorry my lovelies :(

The background is one that I made up using Dyalusions spray & a Tim Holtz stamp.  The scary cat is by Stampotique.  The black frame is up on foam pades to give some dimension.  The theme this week was set by my the lovely DAWN, do pop over to her blog, she has some lovely stuff there!

SCD - INCHIES - FACES!

'Here's looking at you kid' hee hee!!!!  This weeks challenge over on SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT is FACES.  Still following the theme of INCHIES for this month too.  As some of you may know, I am trying to make a set of these inchies.  I managed to make the others wildlife related but couldn't do it with this one....guess I will have to make extra haha!  Anyhooo here is mine...

I love this stamp & use it a lot!  BUT.....I couldn't decide which stamp to use so made some more...

They have all been done the same way.....old paper distress ink for background, black stazon, Aquatone pencils & glossy accents!

SCD - INCHIES - Black & White

Hasn't this week sped by??? When I look back I don't seem to have achieved too much either haha!

This weeks Something Completely Different Challenge theme is all BLACK & WHITE.  Still on inchies this month too.  I hope I can be forgiven for adding a touch of gold tho so that all my inchies this month will match together.

This was soooo easy!  Out came a square of stampbord, a stamp & stazon.  The stamp is one from the African Safari cube by Judikins.  I love these zebras & they were perfect for the theme.  As with my other ones I have glossed the creature & embossed in gold round the edges.  So am I forgiven????

SCD - INCHIE - BIRDS!

Hello everyone!!!!  I am so so naughty & very impatient :(  I really thought that this was dry but it is obvious in the photo that it isn't quite!!!  BUT I really can't wait to blog this....tut tut!!!!  Not because I think its wonderful but because I really want to go & get my nose stuck into my book that I am reading hahahaha

This is my entry for the SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CHALLENGE this week which, while carrying on with the inchie theme has its own theme of BIRDS this week!!!  Please look beyond the obvious cloudiness won't you XXXX

I have made this one along the same lines as last weeks as I want to see if I can make a quartet to put on a mini canvas as a pressie.  So I have used the same watercolours etc.

SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT - Inchies month!!!

Hi all XXX  After a month out beacause I am so not keen on moo's I am back with this SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.  Its a new month so a new challenge - INCHIES!!!  The theme this week is.......ORIENTAL

I love Oriental & new straight away I just had to use my dragon stamp!  But aren't these little blighters tricky to photograph????  Irl my inchie is actually a darker red & orange which the pearl matches....promise!!!

The edge is embossed with gold & the dragon itself glossied.

SCD wk17 - Black & Gold

Hi there!!! This week over on SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT the main theme changed to MOO's. Before last week I had never actually heard of them and I have now discovered they are tricky little blighters to photograph too hahahahaha!!! The weeks theme was to make one in....BLACK & GOLD.

I have to grovel an apology for the really bad photograph of my moo (am I the only one thinking of cows??? haha) It truly is black & gold

SCD - WK 16 - BIRDHOUSE

On a roll today and got this one done.....very cathartic I have to say. The theme this week over on SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT is to make a BIRDHOUSE.......brilliant idea!!!

I haven't done anything too tricky today but I have had a lot of fun with this one. I even gave them a net curtain to hide their blushes haha

SCD - Houses - Words

First of all I would like to thank all those who left a comment yesterday about Charlie, I was really moved, thank you XXXXX My other cats are a bit bewildered but ok, although Sam, as the new topcat, is not too sure about bossing the females around hahaha Of course it does mean that he may grow up at last hahaha

Anyways...back to SCD. The continuing theme of houses still stands and this week we were asked to use words. Please forgive me for being a bit cat orientated this week but I actually thought of a certain person in our lives when I saw this quote!!!!! Would love to give it to her haha

SCD - wk14 - houses - FLOWERS

Isn't it amazing just what you can get done when there is no computer??? The electrician has been round today to change all the meters so I had nothing to distract me and ooo I had fun with this!!!

SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT is such a fun challenge blog!!! The basic shape changes every month and the theme every week!!! This month we are making little houses and the theme this week is FLOWERS!!! There is some amazing stuff from the DT this week too!!!

As a greenhouse had already been mastered I thought I would make a potting shed!!! hahahaha as if I could make a greenhouse like the one the SCD blog!!!!!

I think its all self explanatory really but I would like to point out that the little wheelbarrow & spade are metal.

SCD - WK 13

Hi there!!! There certainly is something completely different happening over on the Something Completely Different Challenge blog today!!!! The theme has changed from postcards to houses!!! I love houses...just wish I lived in one hahahahahaha. Nah...I am very happy with my flat really, honestly Jeremy XXX

Although the main shape has changed we still have a different theme each week & this week its Love & Romance......aaahhhh! Now this is the point when I shout.....'Why can't I get a decent photo????' I have tried everything today...grrrrr!

Anyways, although its hard to see, I did use Fired Brick Distress Inks for the background, which is pretty dark isn't it? A tucked a little pic of a soppy couple in behind some lovely white lace & stuck a jewelled pin through. I finished it off with a flower, some beads on a wire & a little brass charm which reads 'made with love'.

So irl this little house shape is a lot darker....I think you will need a lot of imagination...sorry. HUGS XXX

SCD - wk12 - postcards - CIRCUS

The theme for this week 'SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT' challenge is

CIRCUS

This one was particularly difficult for me as I never liked them as a child...the clowns were just downright scary & I always felt sorry for the animals!!!! I did take my daughter to one when she was 7 though but all I liked was the mahoosive python they brought out. It made my MIL move faster than I had ever seen her.....she was gone hahahahahaha. But I think that my fear & dislike of circuses must have reflected in my crafting as my postcard is pretty dark.....sorry X

I downloaded the image of the trapeze artistes and then layered up patterned & plain card to make a tent opening. How I wish that penny black was real tho....it was an image I cut off another stamp!!!!

SCD - WK 11 - POSTCARDS - BOOKS

Hellooooo!!!!! I managed to find some lovely crafty time to unwind!!!! Its brilliant having family to stay but am I the only one who finds it very wearing at times???? Its not that I don't love them to bits its just that I am not used to so many people around all the time iyswim.

So I have enjoyed doing this weeks challenge for SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. We are still making postcards and the theme this week is BOOKS!!! Bit of a tricky one I think.

One of my favourite reads is Gone With the Wind....totally un-PC I know but its a darn good read. I have always loved a book that is at least 2" thick....got to get my teeth into it then hahahahaha.

I found an image of the film poster on t'internet to use for this one. I stuck 2 different calligraphy papers onto the blue background & then overstamped with a TH diamond background stamp in Denim Blue DI. The stamp is an old real one....I hunted for a booky one & no joy so just used a colour matching one!!! Its amazing....its in old money hahahahahahaha
The scroll is in Denim Blue as well and doesn't look quite so pronounced irl. The other stamps are Paper Artsy I think.

SCD - postcard - TURQUOISE & BROWN!

I think blogger must have been having a brainstorm because when I started to type this it came out in Hindi hahahahahahaha!!!!! Anyway this weeks theme from the Something Completely Different Challenge Blog is:

TURQUOISE & BROWN

The theme for July is postcards still. Here is the one I came up with. It all started with a little chippie bird that I had already covered in turquoise ink!!!! I inked the chippie letters to match & then spritzed all the chippie with the copper. My background is frayed burlap DI, pritzed with copper Glimmer Mist & then overstamped in frayed burlap with a lovely swirl by Dimension Fourth. The picture came from a little pad by Crafty Secrets. As usual the postcard is brighter irl...I really must sort that out!!!

The postage stamp is an original...good old FIL!!! Thank you so much for coming to see what I have done. Have a brilliant weekend HUGS XXXX

SCD - postcards - VINTAGE

Hello there from a dull & dismal Cornwall today :( Ahhhh well, we have had it good haven't we?

Todays offering is a new challenge from Something Completely Different. It was Gez's choice this week and the subject is VINTAGE!and we are making postcards through the month of July! Please pop over to see what lovely crafting thier design team have come up with...its really inspiring!!!

I consider myself very lucky beacause after my FIL died we found huge piles of vintage paperwork, cards, letter and photographs. So for this challenge I have scanned a rather unusual postcard. It is a birthday postcard sent to his mother from my late FIL Douglas way back in 1936. I scanned both sides for you to see too. The lovely photo of Douglas himself was taken in 1941 when he joined the war, so the dates nearly tally!

Although you can't see it in the pic I spritzed the yellow background with copper glimmer mists and added copper embellies. Oh & I am sure he would have laughed to see the postmark on his head as he was always muttering about the post being late in the office hahahahaha

SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT - TAGS - CROWN!

Today from Something Completely Different its the last week for tags....I shall miss these & hope that they come back in the future! But I can't wait to see what they do next week!! Anyway the theme this week is.......CROWNS.

I immediately thought of the Queen of Hearts. Not Princess Diana but the original who made a load of tarts and then that naughty knave went & stole them...remember her???

The image is a clipart off tinternet(isn't she lovely, not like Alice's Queen at all hehe). I added a chippie heart coloured gold and some pretty beading I have. I then wrote the 1st 2 lines of the nursery rhyme round the edge.

Something Completly Different - Tags - HOME

Isn't crafting wonderful??? I have so much family stuff going on at the moment its just so chilling to be able to go & craft or just do some blog hopping at the moment. I faffed around with this one hahahaha and in the end I hand drew a sort of castle. There is lots of dabbings with distress inks and some stamping too (if you can find it!!!). The little door opens to reveal a little red heart....ahhhhh!

SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT - TAGS - HEARTS

The theme this week has been set by my lovely friend Gez:

"Our theme for June is Tags & the topic is HEARTS"

I went all girlified with this one hehe. I covered the tag with a paper from Papermania's Exquisite range, positioning the word 'love' across the bottom. I went over that with a pencil and then embossed the lettering only to make it stand out more. The heart stamp is a fave of mine & is by Hero Arts. The flower came from a graden centre & is actually quite a thick cloth.

Something Completely Different #4 - TAGS

As its the beginning of June (already!!!) Something Completely Different challenge blog have changed thier theme as promised:

"TAGS"any size, shape or colour unless specified within the weekly theme.
So, with tags as our Challenge who better to ask to be Guest Designer for the Month, but, the one and only, mega talented.................."KATH"..........do pop along to her blog and have a look at her fantastic creations and read her fab posts! We'd all like to say a BIG Thank You to Kath for creating some lovely tags for us and for agreeing to join us this month...So, this week the theme is:-

"STARS AND STRIPES"

I was pretty pleased that it went to tags even though I was just getting the hang of the twinchies hehe. Stars & Stipes immediately conjurs up images of the U.S.A for me! I had bought one of those little ATC books that with a military theme & as it was full of American images it wasn't any good for what I wanted it for BUT now its been perfect!!!!

The background is a Sir Tim stamp again and I coloured a few of the diamonds in red. The big star stamp was a freebie in a mag a while back. The flag & striped paper were from the little ATC book. Oh & I swapped the wording round....no reason other than to fit better hahahahaha

I really enjoyed playing this week. The DT came up with such a variety of tags, not all U.S orientated. Some great ideas there....do pop over & have a peep. Thank you for looking at mine ...have a terrific weekend, HUGS XXX

Something Completely Different #3 - BIRDS

Its week 3 already over on the SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT challenge blog and this weeks theme for the Twinchies is.....

Birds are so popular at the moment with some fab stamps and images out there, so we all can't wait to see what you all come up with."

I love using birds in a project and today was no exception!!! Thank you for this one :)

I happened to have on my desk (under the other stuff hehe) a gorgeous scrap of book binding paper that I got in London. It has gold leaf on it and I thought I would make a bright little birdie for this twinchie. The orange card was sprayed with copper Glimmer Mists to go with the paper. The leaves are punched out and of course I thought he was pretty hahahahaha
