CHRISTMAS TREE BOOK

Hellooo my lovely blogging friends!  Have you all started your Christmas crafting yet?  Or are you busy with Halloween???  This week I have been playing with a lovely ~Tando Creative~ chippie book in the shape of a Christmas Tree!

I decided not to use it for photographs but to make a sort of free-standing decoration, using Christmasy quotes for inspiration.  The book is just over 24cm high & really sturdy to work with....it will take all sorts of stuff thrown at it - even your tea probably hehe!  Here it is nekkid hehe...
For the backgrounds of all the sides I used the new Basic Grey Jovial range of papers & then lightly covered them with gesso to tone it down a bit.  The edge of each branch was then painted with white Eco paint & glitter added.  After that it was a case of a good rummage in my Christmas box....nearly fell in too hehe!  The reindeer in the top pic is another Tando goodie - isn't he cute?  The holly & robins are coloured in stamped images and the trees are from my stash - seem to have had a pile of these for years!

For this sideI wanted a 'busy' tree, just like the one my daughter does (everything goes on it!)  I have layered up the tree to give it some fullness & added some stamped & coloured images, stickles & buttons.  Oh & I tracked down some of those pretty little lights too!

For this one I actually made some miniature stockings from scrap Christmas fabric.  They were fiddly but worth it!  The Santa is a stamped images as is the holly.

The snowman on this side is a die-cut I found & coloured then added a felt hat & fabric scarf.  The teensy snowflakes have been painted & glittered....I love this paper :D
If you would like to get this book to play with take a look ~here~ for the stockists.  Thank you for taking a look today my lovelies, HUGS XXX

Karen, this is the most fabulous tree, and so much thought and time went into it, I can tell. Since I decorate my home with nothing but trees each year, I was even more drawn to it. And those stockings are simply incredible. It sure is an inspiration for me, too.

Oh what a lovely idea and so many shiny happy Xmas details!
I hope it gets pride of place this year; in the most coveted christmas ornament spot in your house.
The spot that all your other ornaments secretly fight over while you are sleeping and dreaming of Santa's bulging sacks!
