Fun at The Craft Barn Extravaganza!

Hi, I made it back to Cornwall from Surrey unscathed :-D  What a fantastic weekend!!!!!  It was busy and full of lovely crafters of all types to chat to & demo for.......fabulous!  There were also some incredible crafters demo-ing which made me feel pretty humble! This wasn't work, this was FUN!  ~Di Oliver~ and I had decided to make a real impact with our products this year & we were lucky enough to be given 3 tables to display & demo with Tando Creative and what a difference it made too, especially as we had a corner!  The DT amazingly came up with loads of examples for us to show along with our own...

The two ends...

Tando had some new releases for the weekend...a set of clocks.  Sorry they are a bit plain but I didn't have too much time to make these up :(  You have already seen the round one so here are the other 2 designs...the tall clock...

the cuckoo style clock...

For the Extravaganza I worked on another tall clock, decorating it with stamped butterflies...

A massive thank you to all those people who took the time to come along and to my lovely friends (old & new) who gave me an encouraging hug.  I send you all one back xxx

Helloooo, this time next week I shall be in the car on my way to Surrey for the ~The Craft Barn Extravaganza~ weekend!  I shall be joining Di Oliver at our ~Tando Creative~ stand for lots of demonstrating.  This has to be one of the biggest events in the crafting calendar so please, if you are up this way pop in, its all free!  Tando will be showcasing some new releases that weekend that will be more widely available after the event.  Just to tease you here is one of them, already made up by yours truly...

The base has been painted with acrylics and the flowers have been stamped, embossed & cut out.  I would love to go to this event as a customer, there are some awesome crafting people demonstrating but I shall be behind a load of chipboard hahaha!!!!  Please come & say hello if you come, HUGS xxx

Just a mess that what hahahaha!!!  I still have things from the retreat to make and have left them on my desk to get in the way till I do them!!!

DOH....ever tried looking for your photo to find you haven't actually taken it??? hahahahaha

The white paper down on the left corner is actually covering up a DT project...sorry can't show you yet.  But you can see that I have been using my beloved distress inks though.  The little packet of beads is actually a kit from Leigh's class at the retreat which I haven't made yet :(  Can you see my new Stampotique stamp lurking????  Can't wait to play with that!  There is yet another pincusion but apart from that its all crap  a load of nothingness really...sorry girls!

If you fancy having a peep round other peoples craft spaces do pop over to JULIA'S BLOG , its a load of fun!!!  There are so many nosy people now that I am not sure if I can get round, but I will try!!! HUGS XXX

WOYWW........nearly hehe

Hello lovely people!!!!  Sorry its been a week since I blogged but I have been on a long weekend crafty retreat with my lovely BubblyFunk Forum pals.  There was no point in taking pics of my workspace as its completely tidy...no crafting for a week :(

A couple of weeks ago I was asked what was inside my ephemera box that was on the shelf unit.  So I have hoiked it out from its new hiding place and taken a peek inside...

Most of this was snaffled from some of the numerous boxes left by FIL.  I love the old knitting & crochet book by Patons & Baldwin and the Continental Travel Hints holder by Southern Railway!!!  There are old insurance letterheads with some lovely typefaces on too.

I just had to show you one of the pages from the knitting book.  I have looked but can't see a date on it anywhere but look what you could make for your toddler???  And what on earth is a body belt all about?????

Thank you so much for taking a peep today, hopefully it will be my desk next time.  If you love a nosey then popping over to JULIA'S is a must for you!!!  HUGS XXX

WOYWW - a new look!!!

Hellooo to all you lovely nosey people hahaha!  Great isn't it?  If you remember last week I had at last persuaded hubby that I just had to have the other half of this room...crafting one end...sewing the other...made perfect sense to me BUT oh the crap old papers that were that end...hahahaha!!!  Remember this from last week....

After a lot of hard work and the help of a lovely man who put the cupboards together IT NOW LOOKS LIKE THIS....

Jeremy wanted to change his Dads desk but I love it as its just the right height for my old faithful sewing machine!  You can see all my fabric in the stacked boxes.  All looks a bit of a jumble in there but will be tidied soon.  On the desk is my sewing basket with a couple of cupcake pincusions and on the other side is a bag with some new fabric in it just waiting...hehe!  On the chair is a crocheted blanket I made a while back just to make it look prettier.

Hope you have liked the transformation and if you love a good nosey at other peoples stuff then pop over to ~Julia's~ to find loads more WOYWW.  HUGS XXX

WOYWW.....eyes left!!!

Good morning to all you WOYWWers!  I was so hoping that my tall cupboards would be in so that I could show them off but they are coming today.  Jeremy got them through an office suppliers & they are putting them together free...hows that for a treat in itself hahahaha!

I can't show you my desk as I am making something for the retreat I am going on next week so I have swung my camera left to show you some shelves you haven't seen before...yep...I have more shelves hahaha!

Let me run you through it...

On the top...a birdhouse I got cheapo to alter but now I like it too much...DUH!  Behind that is a lovely wooden tree and I got the dolls house in a charity shop for £4.  Not sure if I could alter that yet as it is still its original decor...seems a shame.

Next shelf...loads of things to tart up!

Next shelf is pretty obvious and the last shelf you can see contain Needlecraft Magic mags.  Anyone remember those??? You got them weekly & built them up.  There are some amazing patterns in there!!!  Oh & in the blue box is a load of ephemera that I grabbed when we were going through FIL's old boxes.

So there you are...enough to play with forever I think hahahah!  If you fancy a nosy do pop over to JULIA'S BLOG where you will find loads more WOYWW.  Thanks for being nosy today, HUGS XXX

P.S....I forgot to mention the 'monkey'. It is an urang utang from when we sponsored one in Borneo. xxx

Hi all...I haven't done this for a couple of weeks mainly because my desk has been sooo tidy through lack of mojo but am up & running again now...phew!!!!  I  am getting some kits together for a class that I am doing on the BubblyFunk Retreat in May.  I have to cut circles...now why is that you can never find the exact size you want???  I eventually found a saucepan lid & have to trim the fabric circle down a bit...mmm...hahaha

(((Oh my goodness.....if you have tried to upload a pic today....WHAT A PAIN THAT IS NOW!!!!! Do I really need a record of all the blog pictures....nooooo)))
Anyway...if you are wondering what these peeps are going to be making, here it is...or one like it anyway haha

If you aren't bored already I thought I would show you a pic of what my new sewing are looks like now...remember I was hankering after the other half of this room???  Well...I do have a nice hubby hahaha but what a mess as it is now!!!  You can just see my old sewing machine in amongst the debris haha

WOYWW

Helloooooooo!!!  I think the country turned upside down in the night hahaha!!!  Scotland was supposed to have snow but why does Cornwall have it???????  Bizzarre eh?

So.....whats on my workspace ?????  Something a little different as I was playing with metal and alcohol inks.  Its the first time I have played with metal so its all experimental or should I say messy as I was messing around hahaha

I promised Kathy that I would show what was in these drawers at the side of my desk...its where I keep all my inks so not too exciting...

In the top ones from the right are....embossing inks, chalk inks, brilliance inks, stickles, h2o's & dabbers
middle row...random inks, permanent inks, alcohol inks & pads etc, distress inks.
bottom row...more random inks and then glimmer mists!!!!  Not a lot really hahahaha

Fancy a nose???  Then pop over to Julia's to find more WOYWW, its great fun hahaha. HUGS XXX

A COUPLE OF DT PIECES FOR YOU & A BIG MESS !!!

Hi there lovely people!  Today I thought I would show you a couple of my recent DT cards & of course the mess that is supposed to be my desk hahahaha

First up is my entry for this week on the BUBBLY SCRUMPTIOUS CHALLENGE BLOG.  The theme is
GO WILD

I adore this Leopard stamp by Tanda, it always comes out beautifully & there is so much detail on it. I stamped some paws over the card for the background & then matted the image onto some BG paper.

Secondly this is my piece for TANDO CREATIVE.  I was sent a lovely chippie owl to play with.  He very nearly became a deceased owl (refer to Monty Python here haha) but he was yanked back from extinction by some gorgeous paper I got in a London Bookbinders.  It has real flecks of gold in it!!!  The canvas is 5x7" to give you an idea of the owls size.  The leaves are held on with copper brads & the little frame is copper too.

As its wednesday I thought I should show you why I am blogging instead of crafting!!!!  Its WHATS ON YOUR WORKDESK WEDNESDAY so here you are people, complete with a large black tom cat called Sam who won't budge!!!!

I think thats all folks!!!  Thank you so much for taking a looksee.  HUGS XXX

EASTER EGG HUNT!

My lovely buddy Gez sent me a couple of largish matchbooks and more or less challenged me to make something with one or both !!!! Took me a while to work out but I have managed to come up with something Gez!!! X

I have made an Easter Egg Hunt folder thingymajig!!! I am also using this one as my entry for the Easter Competition over on the FISKARETTES BLOG. There are some great prizes so please enter if you can X

The 'book' is covered in a mix of green & orange BG papers and doodled round in white. I had an egg stamp from last year and used this to create watercoloured images for the front & insides. All the letters are rub-ons, sorry...don't know who by.

It all opens out to show 8 coloured lolly stick with a shrink plastic (er yes....I was brave hehehe) egg on the top. There are clues written on the backs of the sticks. The idea being that the clue on the hidden stick will lead you to the next stick and so on till you find your prize. Which of course just has to be choccy eggs!!! Couldn't resist making a special little bag for these.....oh and I found a good place to store the spare ones too hahahahaha

Thank you so much for taking the time to look and please feel free to leave a comment XXX

I've been tagged hehe!

Well I never!!!! I have been tagged and by the lovely Chris . Oh if you want to be delighted just pop over to her blog...she makes me laugh and is so so talented.

The idea is that you take the 4th folder from your picture file and then blog the 4th picture. I was just so relieved that it wasn't a naff one of me I can tell you hahahahaha

I was really pleased with what I found tho. Its a lovely picture of the Eden Project at night. For anyone wanting to visit it, going at night is a must. The dome are lit up obviously but there is music as well and the birds are all singing. Anyway...this was the FIRST ever night opening in 2004 and I had a special invite through my job to go. Ahhh talk about a trip down memory lane eh hehe! It was mine and Jeremy's 1st date....ahhhhhh I hear you say. Enough babble...here is the pic, tho please bear in mind it was taken on a very old, cheapy camera.

Of course I couldn't let you go without showing you the ice-rink which they had there as well!!! Nope....I didn't have a go, I prefer terra firma!

So now I have to tag a few peeps...mmm...tricky as I suspect you have already been done. So if you have just ignore me hehe!

So I tag: Rosie, Crafthazelnut, Sue, Janice and Tracey

Thank for reading thru my babble! XXX
