Altered Dictionary - T

Hellooooo, its back to my Fruit Dictionary again today!  I am loving that my book is getting full and I now have pages that follow if you know what I mean.  I am aiming to end up with just the 24 dictionary pages and no spare.  For the letter 'T'  I have gone for TAMARIND.  I vaguely remember using Tamarind seeds for something and in my head I was thinking that it was a bit like an orange grapefruit...how wrong was I hahahaha!  If you have ever grown peanuts in a tub then this is what it looks like but hanging down from a tree.  You take the shell off and nibble around the seed in the middle.  Not that I am ever likely to do that here in the U.K.  Anyway, enough waffle, here is my page...

As I had several pages for the letter I gently tore out some from the centre of the  signature.  The rest I cut and folded down to make 3 pockets.  I lightly glued the edges together to hold them and then stitched, adding lace to the edge as I went.   I found the images through Google.  There are 5 tags...

Unusual fruit isn't it?

Its never too late to join in this year long challenge over at *The Craft Barn Blog*  just look in the right hand bar for all the prompts.  All you need is a dictionary and some imagination!

Thank you for coming to see me today, take care, HUGS xxx

Oh darling, this is an amazing page. I love the backgrounds, pockets, tags - hmm, all of it lol!! What a strange looking fruit though, aren't the seeds used in Indian cooking??
Huge huggles x x x x

Hi Karen,
I've never heard of Tamarind but really love what you've done with the design.
I also wanted to say who is this woman in the top left hand corner of your blog :-) I didn't recognise you at all :-)
Hugs,

Wha hey! New photo of the inimitable Ms Karen!
Reading your posts on this dictionary of fruits you've done has been quite an education for me. Next time I have a bile disorder, I'll know where to go and what to get :-) Lovely idea with the tags too xx

Adorable sewn pages and pockets and tags and the insight into a Tamarind too. BJ

Tamarind is a new word to me. So I learned a new word, AND what it was.

Really lovely tags, and tag pocket, too. I've never tried stitching directly in a book before. The lace and the stitches add the finishing touches.

Like your new photo. And I like that you are ALWAYS smiling.

Well Karen - I thought your pages were really neat but to be honest with you, I had no idea what you were talking about and those "things" hanging from the tree looked kind of like fingers to me. The right hand side is pretty fabulous! I am missing this challenge so much!
