Dragonflies!

On The Craft Barn Blog last week we are looking at Imagination Crafts Decoupage Stamps again.  Last time I worked with the Fucsia so I thought I would have a change and work with the Dragonfly selection of stamps.   If you like your cards to have some dimension these are a good way of getting it with just stamping and a bit of colouring.

To make the dragonflies I dropped a few different blue coloured alcohol inks onto acetate and let it dry.  Looks pretty and a bit like dragonfly wings eh?....

Then I painted white acrylic over the alcohol inks...

Turned it over and stamped and embossed with a blue tinsel powder before cutting the dragonflies out to attach to the card!!!

They really are iridescent but it doesn't show up in the photograph!  Another tricky thing to take a pic of haha!

Thank you for taking a look today, HUGS xxx

How you paint yucky white acrylic over those gorgeous alchohol ink patterns is beyond me. That's one of the things I find hardest about this sort of project but boy don't you always pull it off! Dawn is a lucky girl :-)
