I can't really believe that I have done a scrapbook page......I just don't scrapbook! But over on the FISKARETTES BLOG the weekly challenge was vintage and after being inspired by Di , I felt the urge hahahaha
The photo is a lovely one of my 3 Uncles not long after they emigrated to Australia. My Uncle John is the groom and he is marrying Beverley. On the left is my Uncle Les who was just recovering from a snake bite and had nearly died. Incidently, an aborigine saved him by smearing honey on the wound! On the left is the younger brother, Percy. Hence why on the back Bev has written....."Me and the Boys". Very sadly for us all this beautiful, vibrant, fun-loving woman is in the latter stages of Dementia.
I used a sketch by Caroline Scattergood, which can be found HERE!. The papers I have used are from K&CO . The flowery paper is just like a dress my mother wore in Australia. They use lovely bright fabrics which are treated with something so that they don't fade. I haven't put a title on it because I couldn't decide on one and then realised that it didn't matter hehe
Thank you so much for looking XXX

EASTER EGG HUNT!
My lovely buddy Gez sent me a couple of largish matchbooks and more or less challenged me to make something with one or both !!!! Took me a while to work out but I have managed to come up with something Gez!!! X
I have made an Easter Egg Hunt folder thingymajig!!! I am also using this one as my entry for the Easter Competition over on the FISKARETTES BLOG. There are some great prizes so please enter if you can X
The 'book' is covered in a mix of green & orange BG papers and doodled round in white. I had an egg stamp from last year and used this to create watercoloured images for the front & insides. All the letters are rub-ons, sorry...don't know who by.
It all opens out to show 8 coloured lolly stick with a shrink plastic (er yes....I was brave hehehe) egg on the top. There are clues written on the backs of the sticks. The idea being that the clue on the hidden stick will lead you to the next stick and so on till you find your prize. Which of course just has to be choccy eggs!!! Couldn't resist making a special little bag for these.....oh and I found a good place to store the spare ones too hahahahaha
Thank you so much for taking the time to look and please feel free to leave a comment XXX

DIDDY BAG!
The challenge on FISKARETTES last week was to work with fabric in some way. I am a bit late for this one as this challenge was for last week but never mind.
My little niece, Millie, is coming up for two and has started to go 'shopping' around the house with a paper bag hahahahaha. I thought I would make her a real little bag to carry her finds in. Its pretty diddy at 6"x5" but big enough for her. You just cannot teach these girlie habits young enough can you??? hahahaha
The main part is of cotton...the outside being orange and the lining & strap being lime green. The heart & flowers are in felt. A button and some gorgeous ric-rac finished it off. Everything is sewn down VERY securely as well!!!! Oh and it really is square, although it doesn't look it in the photo.
Thank you so much for taking the time to have a look and I love yo read your comments! Take care XXX

ORIENTAL 'YEAR OF THE OX' MINI-BOOK!
I made this for this month's Fiskarettes Competition. The theme was Oriental and as this is the year of the Ox and my daughter was born in one of those years, it is a gift for her. That is if she ever gets back to the UK hehe....she has visions of being snowed OUT!!!!!! But then...there are worse places to be stuck than Singapore eh?
This little book is 10cm x 13cm, a nice size to work with. The covers are covered in a gorgeous paper I bought in London from a bookbinders....always worth visiting these places as they have beautiful Japanese papers for a good price....this one has gold leaf on it!!!
I digress as usual...sorry X

I then decorated with Bazill Bling and some Chinese coins & red ribbons. Then I had to go and do a daft thing.....I dropped my gold dabber right onto the lettering...ARGHHHH!!!! So that is why it has ended up looking very grunged hahahahaha
The pages are black and I used parchment to print the blurbs on, which I mounted onto gold. The pages are edged with gold Krylon pen.
Thank you for taking a look at this little book. I would like to add that there are some lovely entries for this competition so please take a look. XXXX
