Inchie #26

Awe, I had a little trip down the emotional lane with this one.  The prompt is 'NEGATIVE' and I decided to take a look at my photographs and turn one into a negative.  Easy option I know but I did have fun!!!!  After a few scary pics I decided to use one of my lovely Charlie nestling in some tinsel!  He was just recovering from a stroke but he still managed to get in there - he adored Christmas!!!  Its not quite the same now he is no longer with us, Bless Him.

Inchie #25

Hi, its inchie time again!  Over at *Every Inchie Monday* the prompt for this week is 'MAROON'.  Although I know what the colour looks like I still have to check as it can be so variable haha!  Good old Goggle!!! Guess what I found?  This beautiful bird - a Maroon Oriole.  Never heard of a maroon one before but isn't it striking?

There are some very clever entrants who would have drawn this themselves but I am not one of those so I have printed the bird out, cut it out and fixed with a sticky pad.

Its Inchie time again :-D  I have to admit that I did cheat a little with this one as I have been a bit busy!  The prompt is 'MAID' and if the inchie had been a lot bigger then I would have liked to have put a Bal Maiden on it....being a Cornish gal!!!  But I went with a film poster in the end of one of my favourite actresses...Bette Davis.

INCHIE #23

It must be Monday again as its Inchie time :-D  This weeks prompt is 'LAVENDER' , which has to be my favourite border flower for the garden!  When I had a garden I had lots of different varieties and sitting on my back door step with a cuppa in the breeze was heaven to me!  One of my cats spent his time sleeping amongst the bushes and always smelt good hahaha!  For my inchie this week I have made a teensy lavender bag...

...added some lace and set it onto some flowery paper.

Firstl, thank you for all the lovely comments about my last inchie.  They were really appreciated. x

This weeks prompt is 'LEGAL'  haha the 1st thing that came to me was being 18 ;-D  All that did was to make me sit and titter about being that age....then the downside of thinking about how long ago it was hahaha!!!!  Anyway, I took the prompt along the official legal route and put a scrolled document on my inchie along with an attempt at a seal (not a very good one sadly).  With no red candle, other than one in the Christmas box in the loft, I used embossing powder.

The background is a snippet of paper that I found and the scroll is just plain with embroidery thread tied around it.

Its never to late to join in with *EVERY INCHIE MONDAY* inchie challenges as the list is alredy up for the year.  Go on, you know you want to have a go haha!!!

Inchie #21

I hope that I shall be forgiven for taking a very sideways step on this prompt of KHAKI.  The 1st thing to come to me was the Army, then conflict and the wars of the 20th century.  With those thoughts and feelings come my late Father-in-Law who was an amazing man who was in the front line right across Europe in WW2.  He worked with the French and Polish pilots.  The French gave him a Croix de Guerre in gratitude.  When it was over he came home, put his demob case in the cellar and didn't look back, like so many others.  He lost count of the pilot friends that he lost but it didn't make him bitter.  I met him during the last year of his life and I am honoured that he chose me to talk to about his experiences.  I just wish that we had more time!  Yes, I have his demob case all intact which I found where he had left it!!!!

Gosh!  that turned into an essay, sorry folks!  Anyway, I did sidestep the prompt as he was in the RAF so wore blue but I did think it would be nice to have a pic of him in my collection of inchies.

Inchie #20 and a parade of inchies!!!

hehe  promised when I got to number 20 I would show you them all together and they are all below.  But for now here is number 20.  The prompt is 'KILLER' and my 1st thought was killer bees.  I don't know about you but I love those old disaster movies :-)  I also thought about Arachnophobia but I don't have anything spidery...yuk!!!!!

The stamp is by Stampotique and I have attached it with silicone glue so that its 3D.  Here are the rest...

I am quite pleased with how they look together considering I am not trying to stick with a colour scheme or anything.

Inchie #19

You may have noticed that I didn't make an inchie last week.  I was away and I always intended not to do two from the list to make it easier for mounting onto my canvas at the end of the year.  I am back now with this weeks prompt of 'JOLLY BOAT'.  I have to say that I had to look this up (good old Wikkie) and found that its a small boat, usually attached to a larger boat and used for moving from boat to shore.  Does that make sense written down...it does in my head hahaha!  I found a teensy stamp by Hero Arts in my collection and used that.  It reminds me of a little fishing boat my Dad had when I was growing up in Looe.  The 'waves' are made from torn painted paper strips.

Its INCHIE time again and this week the prompt is INDIGO.  Definitely a lot easier than last week hahaha!  Mixing my paints to get the right colour was a bit time consuming but I got there in the end.  Sorry that the photograph isn't good.  It was hard to get right when there is glitter and beads on the butterfly.

Don't the weeks come round quickly?  Its monday again already so it must be Inchie time :-D  I really did cop out this week, sorry!  My poor brain just couldn't decide what to do so  went for just the meaning/definition of the prompt - IMPLAUSIBLE.  Nice to have some text in amongst my other inchies though I think.

Hello, its Monday again and I am here with another inchie :-D.  This weeks prompt is 'HOT' and I did get in a muddle trying to decide what to do.  Thats the great thing about this challenge...it makes you think!  Saying that, I will have to think very hard about next weeks prompt hahaha!  Back to this week.  I took the easier route of inking up a sun onto my inchie using distress inks.

Its not very good though but you get the idea hahaha!  I am getting quite a collection now so when I get to 20 I will show you them all together.   If you fancy this challenge all the prompts are already up on the site, take a look *here*.

Inchie #15

It Monday so it must be INCHIE time again.  This week the prompt is 'HEAD' but for some reason I was thinking it was 'face' instead...doh!!!  But all is not lost because it is a head too hahaha!

I stamped onto my inchie this week and coloured her face in with Derwent pencils, using Promarkers for the rest.  The stamp is by Katzelcraft.

Inchie #14 - Gold!

This week over at *Every Inchie Monday* the prompt is 'GOLD'.  My first thought was to try and recreate a gold ingot using utee but then I started thinking about other 'golds'.....James Bonds Goldfinger being one of them!  But I decided to keep it simple this week with a lovely British bird...the Goldfinch.  A simplejob of taking a pic from Goggle to use...

Inchie # 13 - GAME

Hello!  This weeks prompt over at *Inchie Monday* is 'GAME'.  I had a long think about this one as there are so many choices aren't there?  I thought about making a mini chess/draughts board, then noughts & crosses (tic tac toe).  Then there is the realm of ball games like tennis, cricket, football....the list is endless!  In the end I used some dinky playing cards from a Christmas cracker and went with the idea of a card game - SNAP! - by layering up the two red queens.

Inchies 11 and 12

Hello!  I missed last weeks Inchie Challenge but its not been forgotten!  I am still aiming to have 52 of these little blighters at the end of the year haha!  First up is this weeks challenge which is FIGURE.  Now there are several ways this could be interpreted but I have no brain at the moment so went with what is uppermost in my mind at the moment.....figure as in the womanly form :-D

I apologise for it being a little boring but its the best I can do at them moment.  Here is last weeks all finished now.  The prompt was FOREST.

I  have used Tando Creative Mini's on both of these inchies - they are perfect for the job and give a nice 3D look.

inchie #10 - Engrave

Helloooooo!  The prompt this week is ENGRAVE for the Inchie Challenge over *here*.   Luckily I have some Stampbord inchie squares which are ideal for engraving and etching.  After a dig around I found a Crafty Individuals stamp to use.  It looks a bit 'scrappy' I'm afraid.  Its a case of better in real life that blown up big hahahahaha!!!!!

I painted bale blue acrylic onto the square before stamping the geode/shell with Archival Ink.  I didn't have the right tools for the etching so poked away with a pin to take the blue off, which is why it looks scratchy.

Inchie #9 - Explode!

Crikey...this was a tricky one to interpret!  But that is what I am loving about this *INCHIE CHALLENGE* - its not too easy and makes you really think  :-D  The word 'explode' makes me think of bombs but of course there are many things that explode, like a kiwi fruit in my fruit bowl the other day (no, I couldn't believe it either)  To interpret this prompt onto an inch square has proved tricky but in the end I went with some layers of paper and cut & curled them so that it looks as if something has exploded out from underneath!  It kind of reminds me of the 1st Alien film....was so tempted to do that one hahahahaha!!!!!

Yes,  have a little collection of these little fellas now :-D  This week the prompt is 'DARK'.  The 1st thing I thought about was an owl, who is nocturnal!

Sorry that he looks a little blurry eyed but he is out in the dark hahaha!  He is a little Stampotique stamp that I have watercoloured.

Hi everyone!  Here is my next inchie.  Have to say I found this one tricky as the prompt was DUAL, as in dual purpose.  It wasn't a lack of ideas but a lack of stash for the theme!  Anyway I had a look through my charms jar and found this little screwdriver.  I am ashamed to say that my screwdriver gets used for a LOT of things hahaha!!!!  If I am decorating its great for opening paint tins and stirring the paint!!!!!  I have even used one for distressing stuff on my craft desk :-D .  Anyway...here is my finished inchie...

Inchie #6

Another INCHIE for you and this week the theme is CHOCOLATE.....yum!!!!!  I have been on a 'diet' for several months now and chocolate has been rationed :-(  But that doesn't mean that I cannot have the odd treat does it?  My favourite just has to be the silky smooth Galaxy!  I had to have a think how to do this inchie as there are so many way to interpret the theme.  I even thought about another favourite...chocolate labradors.  No, I don't eat them just love them hahahaha!!!

Looking to my paint stash I remembered that Cinnamon Prisme paint looks a bit like melted chocolate when its set so used that as the base.  I added some ribbon, purple of course, going back to the old days of boxes of chocolates.  The pic of the galaxy bar was found on Google Images and shrunk down to size on my PC.  The gem finishes it off, hopefully!!!
