DCM - Peel-offs!!!!

Lythan has set the challenge this week and taken some of us on a trip down memory lane:

'You can blame Keryn with her rather lovely cool colours dare last week (great cards all BTW!) for the inspiration for this week. I found that I needed to use a peel off and was quite pleased with the results and that got me thinking of a fiendish dare. At least it is for me (Lythan) who is often disparaging of the much maligned shiny sticker. But actually there are some really nice examples of the genre around now. And also people who can do all sorts of gorgeous things with peel off stickers that I would not have thought of. Are you one of them?
So go on, rummage around in your craft stash and

MAKE A CARD WITH PEEL-OFFS

If you really truly honestly don't have any peel offs in the house (and remember I know where you live and will be checking personally) then and only then, are you allowed to use another type of sticker in its place. Go on, I dare you!'

Now I have loads of peel-offs and do use them sometimes! So I was lucky to still have mine while others had got rid ages ago. In amongst them is a set of swirly ones that I got from QVC yonks ago. For this card I used them as a mask and then chalked over them, before removing them again. So although I have used peel-offs, there aren't any on my card. Does that still count????

I also had the chance to play with my new Laura Ashley stamps and stamped a flower in the middle. Sad to say that it wasn't right in the middle so I found a lovely little 'flower' stamp to balance it out (well I think it does). A pale pink spotty ribbon completed the look.

a closer look

Thank you for taking the time to look, I know you are all busy girlies X

Oooh, you been snooping in my head? I was planning to do the mask trick if I can only find any peeloffs! (not sure I have any in the house). This is lovely Karen, gorgeous soft colours and the Laura Ashley stamp looks right at home there, made for the job!

thats a very artistic card, I love the way you've used the peel- offs as a mask . beautiful colours you've done.
I'm almost inclined to think peel offs are great - used like this

The point is that you've used Peel-Off's Karen, Lythan didn't say they had to remaine on the card.

I think you've done a great job. The colours are so subtle and pretty and the masking is so effective.

Like you and Joanne, I was thinking of doing the masking thing with peel offs, but haven't got that far yet. Love the way you've done it - would not have guessed peel offs were involved. And I love the use of the LA stamp (I acquired that with mag sub).
