SEWING ROOM CANVAS

Hi folks.....just a quick post, though piccy heavy hahaha!!!  Beautiful weather down here in Cornwall today so off for a lovely walk on the moors I think :)

I have been playing with some more TANDO CHIPBOARD (do pop over to see what they have as there is some gorgeous stuff and you can find the stockists easily) I have made up a canvas for the sewing end of my craftroom.  Well it will be the sewing end once I get hubby to lose some of his crap stuff hahahahaha!!!!

Here it is naked...ooooeeerrrr....as soon asd I saw these new designs I knew I had to have them!!!

The canvas is just over 9x7inches to give you an idea.  I had fun padding out the dress form to make boobs & hips before covering with fabric.  Sadly I couldn't get the waist to nip in so it looks like mine.....saggy!

I loved working on the dinky sewing machine, trying to make it look more realistic!  The scissors are painted in Fiskarette colours cos they are my fave pair!!!  I screwed in a little hook to hang them on.  The sewing table is made from those stirring sticks which I liberated from somewhere haha!

The cotton reel was painted & embroidery thread wrapped round with a real needle stuck in.

The canvas itself was covered in an old pattern sheet and then sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer Mists.  I stuck an old tape measure to the top & bottom with some lace.  A banner & sign finish it off...

Have to say that I am pretty pleased with this & hope you like it too.  Thank you for looking today, HUGS XXX

I do love the way you have padded the mannequin. This would be a lovely sign for the door of a sewing room - I used to have one in our first flat, it was a large walk in cupboard but I could shut the door on the mess, I loved it.

Karen you are extremely talented this is fantastic. Love the sewing machine and the scissors are brilliant. But the tailor's dummy has to be my favourite element on this canvas.

Karen, this is wonderful - it really looks as though you enjoyed making it too.
Now, just shove J's stuff out of the way and make that get your sewing area ready to hang it in
