TAG IT ON #41

This weeks challenge from TAG IT ON CHALLENGES threw me all over the room!!!!  I mean am I the only one who doesn't really know what 'STEAMPUNK' really is??????  If I am then I obviously need to get out mre hahahahaha!!!!!  So that was the challenge this week and I gave it a go, though not sure if I have got it right :(

I used a Tim Holtz stamp onto cream card and then coloured parts of it with adirondacks to cheer it up a bit.  Actually its a bit of a Sir Tim fest as the hardware is by him as well.  A little blue embossing round the edges and it was done.  So...do tell me if I missed the plot completely with this one won't you?????

Question......now mens cards are tricky aren't they???  So why do I have 4 close family memners with birthdays in June????? hahaha Thanks for looking today XXX

Oh Karen you have got it SO right!

Steam punk is related to the victorian era and very industrial so if you can sort of think victorian dress up and industry you are there! And you would be amazed how many people intrerpret the same thing I love steam punk! and the artestry involved it doesn't have to be all brown etc

I love your colour in this and it's defo WOW considering you claim you didn't know what you were doing ha ha

Love Dawn xx

Your tag looks fab - so bright and colourful.
I had a month like that in May - and most of our males were kids and teens - which adds even more of a challenge!

Good luck with them karen

Well, Dawn explained that very well. I also love your interpretation! There may not be any victorian elements, but it has the right spirit, with Tim's circles and stripes and the metal embellishments.

For someone who never heard of steampunk you have done a remarkably good job there Karen xxx

Looks a bit Steampunky to me Karen. I love it. Can you stick it on a card front for one of the cards? xxx

No, you aren't alone, I could pull an answer out of my a*** if you like, but it won't really encapsulate steampunk!! I like what you did though, and if you do too, it's a winner! As for the boys with birthdays...hmm, maybe you need to have a chat with your Mum about how boys are born in June...!!

I don't know what "steampunk" is Karen but I do know I like what you have done with that tag. Would be a good technique to transfer onto a male birthday card - hint hint!

I think it looks very steam punk as I understand it.

A couple of issues ago they did steampunk in Craft Stamper, I think it was a jewellery project and the cog teeth had to interlock one another otherwise the engineers amongst us would get upset. Haven't they heard of Artist Licence??!

I nearly swooned over the gorgeous projects in this latest (July 2010) Craft Stamper.
I got so over excited I had to get up and run around a bit ;-)
Have you seen it? If not, please go have a look in WHS and take your smelling salts as I think you'll need them. If you're really lucky you'll swoon into the arms of a tall, dark and handsome cowboy, who'll call you m'am in a very deep Mel Gibson way...sigh. I'm sure there are as many cowboys in Cornwall as their are in Shropshire...

You did an awesome job... this allowed you to jump right out of your box and do something different and I think you did a marvelous job... Just a suggestion but... you said you have several mens cards to make this month. I think this would look great as the front of some lucky man's card.... Great job !!!!

I'm sooo with you on this one though cos I didn't get it either... plus I don't really 'get' masculine things and steampunk always puts me in mind of grease monkeys and steam engines...lol
