TAG IT ON #46 - INCHIE BY INCHIE!

Its hard to believe that its friday again!!!  Who stole my week then????  I have actually managed to get my tag done before the weekend this time :D  Here is what Frankie had to say...

"This week I have dreamt in inchies - pieces one inch square or round. So that is your challenge. Choose your theme and 3 colours then make inchies to cover your tag. Use at least one stamp and ENJOY!!!"

The theme I chose for this tag was 'Travel' , probably because I had a new paper pad delivered with some lovely gorgeous maps inside it, all in pale pink & blue!!!  So my 3 colours are pale pink, pale blue & black.

The tag (had to be a real luggage label hehe) & inchie pieces (apart from the maps) were coloured using distress inks in broken china & milled lavender.  These seemed to match up with the map colours really well.  I have used various stamps from my collection and decoupaged a couple.  I added glossy accents, some glitter & lace to finish.

Pop over to TAG IT ON CHALLENGE BLOG if you fancy having a play with inchies!  Right...I had better go & sort out the ironing I have leeft for far too long haha Thank you for looking today, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON 45 - METALLIC MODE!

mmmm....why is it that you think you have something and when you go on the hunt you just can't find it??????   Grrrrr!!!!!  I had a great idea in my head but am frustrated that I couldn't do it!!!  So this tag isn't really what I had in mind as I had to use some other metal embellies that I had :(  Never mind eh...

I cut the shape randomly and then inked up with distress inks & overstamped with a Tim Holtz stamp.  The metal flowers & the fairy charm were a pressie from a crafty friend x  I added the blue ribbon as I needed a contrast.  Not too pleased with this one as I still have that idea in my head hahaha!

If you pop over to FRANKIE'S TAG IT ON CHALLENGE BLOG you will find more tags using metal.  Thank you for looking today, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON #44 - HEART & SOUL

Hi there!!!  I hope you have all had a lovely weekend!  Today I am showing you my tag that I have made for the lovely Frankie's TAG IT ON CHALLENGE.  Her theme this week is...HEART & SOUL.  Bless her, she had her handfasting last week and is all loved up :D

For the background I swooshed with barn door and chipped sapphire distress inks then overstamped & ermbossed with a harlequin stamp by Crafty Individuals.  I also randomly stamped 'breathe the love' from Papar Artsy.  I tucked the top down and stamped & embossed the words 'Soul Mate' .  The love birds stamp was a freebie I think!

Do pop over the see the other tags and have a go!  Thank you for looking today, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON #42

Hello from a dismal Cornwall today :(  At least we haven't had those storms but then I love a good storm!!!
Today I am showing you my tag for this weeks TAG IT ON CHALLENGE .  The lovely Frankie asked us to use ALCOHOL INKS & ACETATE this week and I got so carried away I nearly forgot to use a stamp.....ooooops!!!

I used a pice of corrigated cardboard for the base of this, painting it with coloured acrylic then a light coat of white.  I attached my piece of inked acetate and then added flowers & leaves.  The stamp is from a selection of freebies that I got from the retreat I went to so thank you to whoever donated those XXX

TAG IT ON #41

This weeks challenge from TAG IT ON CHALLENGES threw me all over the room!!!!  I mean am I the only one who doesn't really know what 'STEAMPUNK' really is??????  If I am then I obviously need to get out mre hahahahaha!!!!!  So that was the challenge this week and I gave it a go, though not sure if I have got it right :(

I used a Tim Holtz stamp onto cream card and then coloured parts of it with adirondacks to cheer it up a bit.  Actually its a bit of a Sir Tim fest as the hardware is by him as well.  A little blue embossing round the edges and it was done.  So...do tell me if I missed the plot completely with this one won't you?????

Question......now mens cards are tricky aren't they???  So why do I have 4 close family memners with birthdays in June????? hahaha Thanks for looking today XXX

TAG IT ON #40

After only just scraping in last week I thought I would get my tag done quicker and how lovely to be able to use my own desk for ideas.  The theme from Frankie this week is to 'Use something that is already on your desk'.  Well...if you look at the post below for WOYWW then you will see I had a brand new Stampotique stamp just waiting for me hahaha!
I decided to change the chair so that one has been stamped, coloured with copics & cut out like the girl.  I have coloured the background with adirondacks and then added another fave stamp.

Why not pop over to have a go at this challenge, thank you for looking today, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON - 38 and 39

I was going to not do number 38 as I was away but then I felt guilty as I have never missed one yet hahahaha!!!  So you have a double lot today XXX

Number 38 was one that was set by the lovely Rainbow Lady and her theme was ALONG THE RIVER...lovely theme I thought till I looked at my stamps and realised that I only had one that would do :(  I have used an image of a fisherman by Personal Impressions that I got to make a card for someone yonks ago.  After I had watercoloured it I then realised that there wasn't too much more that I could do to it other than add a little stickles & a fish bead to the line!  But it is a tag and I have used a stamp hahaha

Number 39 was set by Frankie and is JOURNEY WITH A TICKET TO RIDE.  I do hope this is ok as I have no tickets.  But I did stamp the background with a Tim Holtz stamp that looks like it may be a ticket for New York Central, which I think is a train station!!!  To go with it I found some old stamps that were commemorating old trains and then added a stamped compass by Judikins.

If you like to join in with Frankies TAG IT ON CHALLENGES do pop over HERE!  Thank you so much for looking today, have a wonderful weekend in this glorious sunshine, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON #37 - Lock & Key

Is it me or do these tags seem to be coming round faster and faster????  The theme for the lovely TAG IT ON CHALLENGES this week is....LOCK & KEY!!!

I did a mix of paint & water to swoosh my base card and then overstamped with this unusual building stamp by Crafty Individuals in smokey grey.  The lovely lock chippie has been lurking in my drawers for years (hehe).  I have just painted & embossed that one because of its lovely shape.  The little key was also lurking!!!  mmm......seems to be a lot of lurking in my drawers doesn't there hahahahaha

Thank you so much for looking today my lovelies!  HUGS XXX

To be in with a chance all you have to do is to enter one of the challenges throughout May!!!!

Anyway...back to this weeks.  The theme this week is DISTRESS IT!  Well, I bashed, rubbed and swore at my tag this week so I think its pretty distressed hahahahaha!

I added some Distress Crackle to it as well.  The birdy stamps I used are part of a new set by PaperArtsy, not too sure where the border stamp was from, sorry!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON #35 - Emboss it!

Just scraping in with this one hahaha!!!

The theme for this weeks tag from TAG IT ON CHALLENGES is to emboss!  Can be any type of embossing as long as there is still a real stamp in there somewhere.  For my piece I chose to use my birdy cuttlebug folder.  I painted & stamped the background first though.  The stamps were a freebie from a mag a while ago!  Once embossed I gently rubbed over the raised section with some more distress inks and added a bit of stickles.

You can still join in with this weeks if you're quick as there is a new one out tomorrow!  HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON #34

Hi...hard to believe that we are up to 34!!!!  This week Frankie had another guest designer, ElizabethR, who challenged us to come up with a tag with the theme

UNDER THE MOONS SHADOW

I think its a delightful and different idea and loved having a go.  I used black soot & forest green distress inks.  The tree stamp is from a cube by Judikins and the cows stamp is one of my new ones by Hobby Art.  I just love friesians and when I was a child knew all the names of the ones we had!!!  I added a little sparkle to simulate that glisten that you can get from the light the moon casts.

Thank you so much for looking today & if you want to see some more tags using this theme please pop over to TAG IT ON CHALLENGES!  hugs xxx

TAG IT ON #33 - In the City...

Today I am showing you the tag I have made for the TAG IT ON CHALLENGE! this week.  I love these challenges...its a chance to fiddle & faff around with stamps hahahaha!

The theme this week is...IN THE CITY...a lovely change to work with building type stamps instead of cutsie bunnies etc don't you think???

I have used Distress Inks throughout mine, except for the arch wihich was stamped with Versafine.  I swooshed colours onto my glass board to drop the card in and then over stamped the arch. I think this arch is magnificent.  Its actaully called 'Domino Shrine' and is by Lost Coast Designs. I painted the arch with Frayed Burlap to make it stand out a little more.  The quote stamp is another of my faves but can't remember where I got that from.

If you fancy getting away from pretty stuff pop over and have a go!  Thank you for looking today, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON #33 - Alternative Spring

Oh my goodness....how hard was this and I still don't know if I have got it right!!!!!  The prompt for the TAG IT ON CHALLENGE...

"This week, back to Dragon's own ideas - she wants you to dream an alternative spring - techno, grunge, dark arts etc instead of pretty pretty!!! Is is possible to do a steampunk spring??? I leave it with you to depict spring in an alternative way, but please incorporate at least one real stamp. ENJOY..."

I really didn't think that I would be able to do this one :(  but I did hit on an idea to use a negative.  So I suppose thats a teensy bit alternative isn't it?

The background is a mixture of distress inks, glimmer mists & a Tim Holtz stamp.  The little frame has been coloured & stamped with Black Soot.  Inside there is a negative of a picture of some primroses I took.

Thank you so much for looking and if you would like to see more or take part do pop over to DragonsDreams, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON#32 - Favourite Film

Favourite film???...mmmm....there are so many to choose from aren't there???  This is the theme this week over at TAG IT ON CHALLENGES!

We have to use at least one stamp so it was a case of looking through my stamps to see what came to mind haha.  I have a lion stamp that I got at a zoo and it reminded me that one particular film had a huge impact on me.  I went to see BORN FREE in the cinema when it first came out.  I was only little but even now, it and the reality behind it, really made an impression.  The work that Virginia McKenna (with her late husband Bill Travers) has done since being in the film is extraordinary & a true inspiration.

Not so sure about my tag though hahahaha!!!  Its been slodged & spritzed within an inch of its life!!!  I over stamped the background with a stamp cube (African Safari by Judikins) and then stamped & coloured my lions on another piece to stick on top!

Still not too sure about it hahaha!!!  Thanks for popping by, HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON #31 - FLOWERS & BUGS!

Hellooooo everyone!  I am so pleased that you seemed to enjoy your rifle through my desk yesterday hahahahaha!!!!

Today I am showing you my tag for this weeks TAG IT ON CHALLENGE.  Again the lovely Blackdragon has come up with a gorgeous tag and the theme this week is ...any floral theme with a suitable bug.  I did resist the idea of using a spider on my flower or even a greenfly hahahaha

The colours are quite muted for this one.  All the stamps are by Elusive Images, the butterfly being stamped onto good old tracing paper!!!!  I added stickles to the flower & bug...mmm...now do you call a butterfly a bug I wonder?????

Thank you for taking a look today, HUGS XXXX

TAG IT ON 30 - GUEST HOSTESS!

WOW, I was so thrilled to be asked to be a guest hostess for Frankie over at her TAG IT ON CHALLENGE this week!  I am still smiling hahaha.

The first thing that most people associate with the Orient is the Willow Pattern, but how many realise that it represents a beautiful love story....
....In ancient China a powerful nobleman lived in a palace with his beautiful daughter. The Palace was surrounded by gardens with fruit trees & a lovely willow. But the daughter fell in love with her father's humble clerk, against her father's wishes. The clerk was dismissed & they were forbidden to see each other. A zig-zag fence was built around the gardens so that the poor clerk could not enter. However the two lovers fled & escaped across a bridge, with her father chasing them. The lovers travelled to a distant land but the nobleman sent his men to kill them. When the Gods saw what was happening, they transformed the couple into a pair of lovebirds....

So this week asked everyone to dream about the Willow Pattern Story.  Here is my tag...

These stamps are actually the first ones I ever bought.  They are a boxed set by Kodomo Inc. and also include the two lovebirds.

I hope that you will have a go at this one, there is plenty of scope, just go by the story and of course you need to use at least one stamp!  HUGS XXX

TAG IT ON #28 - YEAR of the TIGER

I am sooo happy that the TAG IT ON CHALLENGES are back...I have really missed them.  Poor Frankie is incapacitated at the mo so the lovely Blackdragon has taken up the post this week to set the challenge.....

"This week, we would like you to dream up your tag on the theme of tiger, either the whole image, or the colours and/or stripes etc etc - for example, I have just been watching the wonderful Joanna Sheen programme and her new Jane Nettley Meyhew disc with that fantastic tiger image ... Please remember to include at least one real stamp in your design. Have fun and please join in to get ME started again (pretty please!!!) and to support the lovely Blackdragon"

Here is my entry....

I cut out a pagoda shape & inked up with distress inks to make a tigerish background.  I have no tiger stamps so I overstamped with some Chinese words (no idea what they mean & I hope they are not upside down!!!) and some paw prints.  It was all looking a bit manic so I placed some parchement over the top to tone it all down, tho that has come up rather bright in the pic hahaha

To finish off I attached a Chinese coin & some ribbon & beads.

Thanks for taking a look today, HUGS for everyone XXX

TAG IT ON#23 - FACE TO FACE!

For this weeks tag Frankie has asked us to use alcohol inks.  I am a bit new to these although I have had them ages I haven't had much of a play with them.  I thought about using acetate to make my tag but wasn't sure where it was (you must have seen my messy room in the post below hahahaha).  What I did in the end was to drip some inks onto wet glossy accents!!!  Looking at it now I should have made a face in profile with that but never mind.  The background is stamped with Sir Tim stamp & the face stamp is an old favourite of mine.

Thanks for looking today, Have a lovely weekend. HUGS XXX
