LITTLE BOXES, LITTLE BOXES....

Over at the online BUBBLYFUNK SHOP there is also a monthly challenge blog to create something a little different with the aim of getting some presents made for the 'C' word hehe!  This blog is called VANILLA SUGAR...sweetly handmade.. and the theme this month is to cover/alter a box, jar or other container.  I had a rummage and found an octagonal box that I got for altering yonks ago!
I gesso'd the lid before adding string, a flower shaped chipboard piece & micro beads...then I painted it with gold acrylic. The lovely cameo comes from Websters Pages and I added little roses around it. For the base I painted with acrylic to match the cameo and added gold ribbons.

Do you remember when I was playing with paint and glue to make a crackle finish???  Well, I have done some more...this time on two of those boxes that you can buy to put pressies in.  I always keep these as they are sooo useful aren't they?

I bought a really cheapy tape measure for 10p....(isn't that a good price and it was fibre not paper) I painted it in the same acrylic I had used under the crackle. The little chippie frames have been glossy accented and I stuck some poppers/press studs on them to tie in with the sewing theme.  These now sit on my sewing cupboards!!!  Oh and see the really old pack of bias binding???

Do pop over to BubblyFunk as they sell loads of chippie and ALL the TANDO range!!!  Thank you for looking today, HUGS XXX
