I made a TEABAG haha!

Yes...I definitely made a teabag :D  We often go away for weekends and I usually don't like the tea that the hotel provides in the rooms so I take my own supply! So I have made a little bag to put them in.

For the bag cut a rectangle of fabric around 14 x 5 inches (I used calico) and decorate. I stamped mine with a background stamp and some words from a PaperArtsy Hotpick using Brilliance Ink (pearlescant orchid) and Memento Ink(Grape Jelly).

Fold the fabric in half and stitch up each side to around 3inches from the top. Turn. Now fold down the top edge to meet the stitching. Stitch a line across 1/2 inch down. Tuck a small hem under along the raw edge and stitch to form a channel. Repeat for other side. These channels are where your cord will go. I also added a little decorative stitching round the top.

Take the 2 smallest ~Tando Creative~ cups from the Mug and Cups Grab Bag and decorate with paint, not forgetting the other sides!

Take a piece of cord/ribbon around 14inches long and thread through one channel and then on through the other channel. ( I used a paperclip for this.)  Making sure that your bag is flat tie a knot close to the sides of the bag.  Repeat using another cord but going in the opposite direction.  Add beads and a cup & saucer as in the pic.  Voila!!!!  I made a teabag hahahaha!!!!!

Its all about having a CUPPA over at ~The Craft Barn Blog~ this week so do pop over for a look at all the DT makes.

Right...I am off for a cuppa now hahahahaha!!!!  HUGS xxx

I love your take on this theme Karen! To be honest, I didn't like the theme at all but this is a great idea and also one that I could see being used. Not by me - I HATE tea!!!

What a good idea - I love it. I always take my own tea bags too (mainly because I prefer to drink decaf) x

Love your designs on your tea cups Karen - first of all I thought that you had covered them with patterned paper.
