Altered Dictionary - K

Hi there!  Its Altered Dictionary time again and this fortnight its the letter K.  As I am all fruity in my book I have chosen KIWI.  For the 1st time (since I was probably about six) I used my fingers to spread the paint haha!  If you haven't done that yet do try it, its amazingly freeing :D.  It turned out very bright so I brayered a light coating of gesso over the top, this also gave it a lovely texture.

The hard part comes next hahaha!  Yes, I did eat all the kiwi that I photographed, no hardship really!!!  I added some small painted tags that came free in a mag recently, added some letters and used embroidery thread to 'tie' them on.  The aim is to have some threads hanging out of the book when its closed to give it more interest.

Gosh, I am really enjoying doing this and from all the entries that I read I can see that a lot of you are too, fun isn't it?  I try to get to see everyone's entry and I am learning so much in doing so.

If you don't have a clue what I am waffling about then take a look *HERE*.  There is lots of loveliness to see in the entries!

Take care now, HUGS xxx

I bet you can't wait for the L page so you can do lemon meringue! :-) Or have you done that already?
My fave bits are the stitching lines and the textured background and your enthusiasm of course xx

No wonder your kiwis look so delish!...photos of the real thing! I love how you did your background and love how great it looks. Cute tags and I really like the idea of them peeking from the pages of your book. Great job!

Hi Karen, I nearly didn't do kiwi myself but then I thought you had done such a completely different take on the word than I would have done that it didn't really matter. Its a great page and in a few months I'm sure I will be enjoying some kiwi fruit even if half the family are allergic to it!I love your page and thanks for commenting on my past pages - I am slowly learning my way around this fun challenge.
