Gift Card Holders

Hello lovely blogger friends :-D

I am one of those annoying people that tend to pop a gift card into a little box then wrap loads of layers around it hahaha!!!!!  Well... except for my mother who would probably not want to play that game haha!!!!!  This week at The Craft Barn we are looking at different ways to make gift card holders.  I have made two for this project, one for the ladies and one for the gentlemen! For the base cards I used A4 coloured card which I cut down. I have included a drawing of how I did that (its a bit scrappy and not to scale but you get the idea).  No paint was involved in this project AT ALL!!!!!  It was actually really nice to go back to my roots and just use paper from a co-ordinating pad for a change!

Cut out your base card and fold along the lines and you end up with a card with a spine and a flap to tuck up inside. To decorate I layered up some paper from the Kaisercraft Vintage Timeless pad, colouring in some of the patterns with Derwent Coloursoft Pencils. On the ladies card I cut out one of the butterflies and clear embossed it before layering it onto some Mulberry Paper. I did the same for the King of Hearts picture for the mans card. Some ribbon has been attached all around the outside of the cards to tie them together.

On the insides I attached some paper to the right hand side (under the flap), a mulberry strip along the edge of the flap and a paper triangle on the flap itself. The flap was then glued in place. I found some postcard images in the book which I thought would be perfect for writing a message on and attached these to the left hand of the insides.

Thank you for popping by to see me, I know how busy you all are xxx

That's makes a good and beautiful change Karen... you were right to use your paper pads for this project! I'm like you, although I love painting sometimes I'm also happy to work with my old papers and inks only on the edges!! Thanks for the drawings and inspiration. Huge HUGS Coco xxx

These are really lovely Karen. I know what you mean about taking a break from paint too! It's really difficult to do though isn't it? You've certainly done it in style here. Hope you are well.
Hugs, Juliaxx
