Hellooo.....its hard to think that its week 8 already and I have 8 tags made in my little box. I am not sure what I will do with them yet....ideas would be very welcome!!!
".........the challenge this week - Simplicity and Serenity - just make something elegant and sophisticated, as simply as you like. Any shape size etc, so long as it is a tag, and uses as least one stamp. Above all, ENJOY!!!"
I am sure that I am not alone in find 'simplicity' hard hahaha! I tend to faff and fiddle hahaha! So I went for a 'serenity' feel which I hope I have achieved. I have always imagined remote places to be where you could feel at one with nature & therefore serene.
I colour washed the background with some blue & green watercolour paints...kiddies ones in fact!!! I didn't fuss with this too much as I wanted some white to show through too. The stamps are from Judikins African Safari Cube. I love these cubes...probably cos I am a bit tight and you get 4 on these hahaha! The charm is actually an earing and no, I am not sure which part of Africa they go to but I thought it looked pretty!
Thank you so much for taking a look today, I really appreciate it, HUGS XXX

Hi Karen...I am so enjoying your blog...I love the intricasy and uniqueness of your artwork..such beautiful tag art here. I often place my tags on a card base to send to family or friends...they look beautiful that way, and so simple to do. Thank you for visiting my blog, I appreciate that. I just joined your followers group and extend an invitation to you to follow mine as well.
Karen, your tag is gorgeous, I love your colour choice and stamp selection.
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog.
Hugs

I know what you mean about it being hard trying to do simplicity. I like to fiddle too. You've certainly captured serenity though Karen. This tag is gorgeous. I love the way you've built up your scene and that background colour is perfect.
I have 8 tags in my little box too. I'm going to try and use them on some scrapbook pages I think.

Very nice Karen, have this cube, you have inspired me to dig it out again.
Have a good evening.

This looks great Karen! I like your mix of elements. Africa is another favorite theme of mine.
Love the theme you chose. Fabulous.
Karen, your watercolored tag is gorgeous with the African stamps. As to what to do with the finished tags, some of mine can be added to another bit of background, paper or painted, and made into a greetings card. Can any of yours be used that way? This one of yours could, I think. Maybe a masculine birthday card?
That is lovely Karen! Very serene :) xx
Love that stamp Karen, I remember seeing it on telly and thinking what a great effect it was. And you're not tight, you just like good value!!!
Oh that's lovely Karen. The only thing is, you've spelt serene wrong on the tag ha ha ha ha haha.
I love watercolours too.
This is beautiful - just perfect for that theme
Oooh, I like this one! Mind you, you might be looking over your shoulder in the Serengeti checking for tigers or other ferocious beasties! Love the subtle colour variations and I bet they look even better IRL!ress
I love the subtle background - beautiful crafting x
